Cover band copyright question... seems pretty confusing

I would make my money from selling recordings. Hopefully the cover bands would put my music in front of people who might buy my recordings.

Cover band copyright question... seems pretty confusing

I disagree. I think cover bands provide free advertising as long as it is limited to live performance and I don't think it hurts anyone. I agree with you for recordings.

I have and I think what I wrote.

    Truss rod adjustment measure

If it plays well for you then it is right. Personally I generally adjust truss rods to achieve a straight neck. That usually provides a proper relief at the 7th fret. I determine neck straightness by eye. It has worked on all my instruments for a very long time. A neck with back bow is a...

Cover band copyright question... seems pretty confusing

Just an opinion but the originators of music that is covered by other bands in live performance should be welcome. It hurts nobody and could motivate audiences to buy copies of the original recording. As soon as you record it you run into copyright issues. I think playing covers in live...

So are people who are boycotting fender also boycotting reverb?

I think you have it right. But the fuss is about Fender sending the letters to PRS and others, something you and I think is inappropriate.

So are people who are boycotting fender also boycotting reverb?

I don't understand why anyone would boycott Fender. They are trying to protect their business. I agree that it is a bit late to do it the way they are doing it. In the bass world what could be more iconic than the Jazz and Precision? View them as a guitar maker, not an enemy. I love reverb...

    Should I get a 34 inch bass

There is an in between option. Medium scale basses have a 32" scale. I'm older that you and I have one. There is no down side that I can detect. '"

Re: intonation. Open string and 12th fret harmonic match, 12th fret fretted does not

Then your intonation is right on. The open string and the 12th fret harmonic should match. When you fret a string you tighten it a little causing tone to go sharp. Perfectly normal. When you fret a string you do bend it a little. 5 or 6 cents is trivial.

So are people who are boycotting fender also boycotting reverb?

IBM stopped making computers many years ago and has become a software company. The PC business was spun off and the brand is now known as Lenovo. Now you know.

So are people who are boycotting fender also boycotting reverb?

I also don't have any interest in boycotting anything. I have 3 Fender products - a Squier Mustang guitar, a Fender Rumble 100 amp and my Gretsch bass. All good products and all very affordable. I have no problem with Fender. I have a problem with paying $3000 for a guitar so I boycott...

    432hz

People like to copy others. People also suffer from expectation hearing bias. It is senseless.

    Best inexpensive tuner pedal

It it is pretty hard to beat a pedal tuner for convenience. Push the button with your foot to silence the instrument while you tune and push it again to connect to the amplifier. You don't need a pedal board to use it. It can stand alone just fine. Just a another cable.

    Best inexpensive tuner pedal

I have an earlier version of this one. I've had it 2 or 3 years. It is cheap and works right every time.
