True, the head alone is over 40lbs. Anyone know how close the GK actually sounds "in the room" compared to an 800rb?

I agree. I LOVE my V4B Reissue, but sometimes schlepping the head and cab up and down stairs from our rehearsal space just isn't what I wanna do. The combo would be kept at home and mainly used for smaller places. Still need something with oomph because our drummer is a beast! Haha

I already have a V4B and 212av at our rehearsal space. Kinda looking for a combo to keep at home and be an "alternate" rig whe. I don't wanna lug head/cab uo and down a bunch of stairs haha

Hey all! Looking at a secondary head to backup/be an alternate to my Ampeg V4B Reissue. Looking at 500w Solid State heads and wondering if that's safe to run into my 600w Ampeg 2x12av. Thanks!

I can get either the rb800 or 1001 rbii for about the same price in the ballpark of $500

Did you end up with an rb800 and 212av? If so how was it? I'm looking at the same setup...

My current cab is an ampeg 212av. So, that said, the 1001 rbii would require potentially a different cab since it's rate for 700w and the 212av rated for 600w. The 800 would work well wattage wise but volume may be a concern? The V4B reissue (100w tube) has hung in there volume wise, so maybe...

Resurrecting OLD thread, did you ever try the OB1-500 and 212av? Looking at adding an ob1 with by 212av. Sometimes I want a bit more thump than my V4B Reissue. I'd keep both but like options...cheers!
