Hi, just purchased the orange terror bass 500w head and a obc112 cab. Cab arrived and was a lot smaller than I thought. I'm thinking of buying a second to stack. Are there going to be good enough for gigs etc.... I'll have a 500w head and two 400w cabs on the go. Thanks

Orange obc112 cabs and 500w terror bass head

I have the Terror Bass 500 and 2 OBC112 cabs. This is a very loud setup. It would be loud enough for most gigs with one cab.

Well, to start with, the cabinets are each 8 ohms, and when you use both, your speaker impedance is 4 ohms. Also, according to Orange, "the limiter switch on the back prevents the output stage from being pushed too hard into 4 ohms."
It's a loud setup. Very loud if needed. I've used mine on some very large outdoor stages, and it covers the stage just fine.
If your speakers are 8 Ohm and you use one speaker put the switch on 8 Ohms, if you use two 8 Ohm speakers total load is 4 Ohms so put the switch on 4 Ohms.

Curious if you're still running this rig? Currently playing in a punk rock/power-pop band and just played a Terror Bass for the first time last night. The cab was a carvin of some sort, nothing memorable. However I LOVED that head with my P-Bass. My current rig is an Ampeg v4B reissue and 212av that stays at our drummers' house. I was considering the Terror and 2 OBC112s for a more modular setup and lightweight option.
Wondering what your thoughts are on it all this time later?
I used my OBC112s often with a terror bass and AD200, depending on the gig. Good sounding cabs, very deep/warm, not a ton of treble extension, but if you like a vintage sound they work well. I'd say comparable to the 212AV on the top end if you run them with the horn off, but much more bottom. I don't think they're the most efficient 12s I've played, but orange doesn't publish any specs so I don't have hard numbers.
If you're coming from a V4B the heavier voicing of the terror preamp will be noticeable, but I found with a P bass or similar it often just works perfectly in a band mix.
I moved on from the terror and AD200 in favor of a Mesa B800D (and bass 400), but still use them with the OBC112 cabs. They're super light and compact.
