I am doing some further looking into what I am told is 1965 Hofner 500/1. Does anyone know where the Serial Number is located on those instruments? The dealer can't find it. Thanks in advance.

Went back to confirm, you were right, I was wrong, the Ric is a 1992. "Rickenbacker (used, June 1992) LEFTY Model 4001C64 FG Reissue electric bass, Fireglo, #F5-7065, in excellent condition with original, slightly worn, hard shell case. " Hate the burst on the back side though....

No, not sure at all. Thats what the sales guy told me. It is in the front window of Manny's on 48th St. in New York City. I am assuming that a place like that would correctly date an older instrument...but then again you know what assuming generally gets you. They would have to come down...
