    While is certainly frustrating from a consumers perspective- from a business perspective I guess I can't blame them if its true. I guess the figure if being "true to vintage" spec is that important to a buyer- then they may as well make it to where they have to dig deeper in the wallet...

    Yeah that bugs me too TBH. I guess some lemon oil would darken it up but still looks goofy compared to real rosewood

    Why do so many players love flats?

    I play a lot of old school country/R&B gigs and I always have a P-bass with flats for that reason. They just have a roundness and "sound" that can't be easily described that rounds just lack. Keep in mind too that as with rounds "flats" are not not just one flavor as they would have been 40...

    After 20 years of using D 'Addario nickels I have a hankering to try some DRs. I play classic rock 95% finger style so I don't need overly bright- punch is what I go for.
