True that. I worked at Gibson (not in the guitar divisions), and I always used to give the Product Manager poopie (lovingly) about "when are you going to do it right?".... and then Epi did (once again) what Gibson USA refused to do, lol....

The Epi has great bang for the buck, I like these pups as much as vintage ones. Next for me is the burst.

Want to sell it? Bone stock? Oh, and yes that was a stock bridge, it has two threaded posts that hold an ashtray bridge cover on. That big circle was just for the ground wire. Funny, I ended up working 14 years at Gibson, lol.

That blows me away. That was my very 1st bass in 1971. I also had the cover. Parents bought it for me brand new. I have been looking for this very bass all these years and yours (besides being in incredible shape) is the very 1st I've come across.
