Official Markbass Club - the beat goes on

Just picked up a LM III and 102P. So far loving it. Maybe when I can save up some money, I'll get either a one of the 104s or a 151. Choices, choices. :hyper:

Do fuses make a noise when they blow?

Were you playing it with a guitar or bass? Only version I saw was a 100W guitar head. Is it an electrical fuse or one of the tubes?

    COMBO PROBLEMS

I just picked up a Mark Bass Little Mark III Head and Mark Bass 102P cab today. After playing with it for a while, I was able to get good "CLEAN" volume out of it to easily do a small club. Attach another 8ohm cab to it for some more fun. Would work awesome as a monitor rig for larger gigs...

    Markbass setup

I was thinking about picking up a Little Mark III head and one of the 102 cabs. I just can't really figure out the real big difference in sound characteristics between front and rear ported cabs. Anyone able to enlighten me about this one? Is there any real difference based on size?

    Ibanez discontinued models.

I really enjoy my 4 year old SRX390. I feel it has some of Ibanez's better pickups without going 3rd party.

    Hello! :)

Welcome, You're off to a great start. From reading about what you said, I would highly suggest you either purchase/rent a bigger amp setup. Your little practice amp wont be able to keep up in a band environment. While it's just fine for honing your skills in your bedroom and what not...

    collapsing saddle

loctite just acts as a sealant and minor adhesive and prevents the screw from backing out on its own while still making it possible to manually remove. If your goal is to prevent a screw from backing out then loctite will be just fine. You can get it from nearly anywhere and it isn't too...

Exercising Plucking Fingers Without A Bass

The tendons in your hands are like any other set of muscles. You can train them either for strength or for stamina/endurance. Bulking up and pure strength training is actually counter productive for stamina and repetitious activity. The more mass there is in the muscle the more it is geared...

    uuuummmm....this guy is insane...

Video sounded alright starting off. Too bad a lot of these slap bass videos getting out there now turn into a guy having an epileptic fit on his bass towards the end. Sounded like complete noise in the last minute or so. Looked cool and fast though at least. I don't know, after watching...

Fingers Killing, Skin has peeled off, Gig Tomorrow- Advice?!

You may also want to consider turning up your AMP and lightening up your attack a bit. Let the amp do the hard work. Should help you develop speed and give a means to allow easier accenting of notes by playing a certain passage a little stronger here and there. Of course that's all IMHO...

    Which bass should I get?

What have you been borrowing from your brother? Do you like it? Does it get the sound you like? Does it feel "right" to you? If you answer yes to these then maybe trying to find and purchase the same bass might be a good option as well. Since he isn't a dedicated bass player and you say...

In defense of duplicate bass threads

I do have to agree that you should search around a bit to ensure that what has been posted in the past isn't concurrent to what you are about to ask. I do understand though that information from some time ago may no longer be pertinent or fully apply to now. Many things can change from even a...

Where did the Japanese basses Go?

"Vintage" really. I can't pull the years off the top of my head, but some would say "Crafted in Japan" while some of the newer ones say "Made in Japan." As far as any quality difference I can't really say. Playing some of the Fender Japan Js and Ps at a local music shop in Shimoda machi I...

do many people use a thumb rest

Personally I've never really needed one really. I just let it rest on either the E or A depending on how far up(or down physically) of the string I have to play. I only usually do this when I play a little harder to keep sympathetic vibrations down a bit. If I use my regular light tough then...

Re: Taxes on basses imported into US...

If your goods get caught for inspection and duty fee you should have a form signed by the agent who performed the inspection. You are also charged for the "privilege" of having your gear inspected and processed on top of whatever % of the declared value. If your goods are damaged there is a...
