    Practice Bass Amp Recommendation

That plus the 10” speaker and expanded eq are worth it in my book. I’m very happy with my Rumble 40.

Does this mean Class D amps are in fact digital ?

A quick google brings up the manual for the Genz Benz Shuttlemax 9.2.

    tuner pedals causing distortion

It might help in finding an answer if the OP could offer more specifics about what they are describing as “distortion.” Is the signal intermittent or cutting out? Does it sound like you’re overdriving the input of your amp? Are you hearing a buzz or hum? Is it audible only while playing or is it...

What signature model is actually worth it?

On the 6 string side, the Eric Johnson strat is killer. It looks like any other strat, but has a bunch of subtle improvements (frets and fretboard radius, quartersawn neck, pickups, headstock shaved to work without string trees…) that add up to something special.

What signature model is actually worth it?

How do you like the flip-up mute on the Hurley? Really cool idea if it works, but given my experiences with Jaguars I have my doubts. It doesn’t get much love here, but I’ll throw the Dirnt out there. I like the combo of an early-50s P with a split-cool pickup.

Are TI Jazz Flats worth the $?

I’m not sure TIs last any longer than other flats. One key difference from many other flats, though, is materials. TI are wound with a nickel alloy. La Bella and D’addario flats (to mention two popular and less expensive options) are steel-wrapped. This makes a difference in price, feel, and sound.

Are TI Jazz Flats worth the $?

Why are they expensive? I suppose material (nickel ribbon) and labor (Vienna, Austria) costs come into play, plus import costs if you are in the States, UK, etc. As for whether they are worth the cost to you… not to be a smartass, but they are worth it if you like them, not so much if you don’t.

Banned from playing music in the home

For those of you using (or recommending) headphones for practice, be very careful. The data connecting extensive headphone use to hearing loss is concerning.

    How to look country?

In addition to making better music than most of what we hear on country radio, Orville Peck had (has?) a paid deal with Dior. Not a look for us mere mortals!

    Fender Mod Shop Neck Question

A quick question for anyone with knowledge or experience with the Mod Shop: I see that the 1963 "C" neck shape is an option on the p bass. Is this the same neck (including things like nut width, graphite reinforcement, and rolled fingerboard edges) that you can find on the American Pro II? Or is...

SOLD Fender American Professional II Precision Bass (Upgraded Vintage-style Pickup) 8.76 lbs.

Excellent condition precision bass with an upgraded pickup. I changed the pickup out to a Seymour Duncan Antiquity II P-Bass pickup for a more vintage-inspired tone, and upgraded the cap while I was at it. The end result is a bass with the stability and playability of a newer instrument, but...

New Rickenbacker 4003 with bottomed-out saddles

Yeah, part of why I'm interested in other folks' experiences here is that I suspect that Ric changed to the new (taller) tailpieces without making other changes to the geometry of the bass as a whole. If running out of adjustment on saddle height is a widespread issue, that might explain why...

New Rickenbacker 4003 with bottomed-out saddles

I have yet to come across a PERFECT instrument from any maker at any price point, but I do take imperfections that suggest possible structural problems more seriously than cosmetic issues. So, safe to say that this is an anomaly, not something to be expected with the newer bridge design? New...
