    BC Rich Bridge Issues

Hmm, cheap, but I imagine it's probably the same Yeah, the small saddles are already quite close to the bottom of the sliding parts they sit in, so all I can think of is sanding the bottom of those or sanding a hole into the block part and sanding down the saddle so that the string doesn't...

    BC Rich Bridge Issues

I was looking at the hipshots, but I don't have enough spare cash for something in that range. Really, the only problem I have with it is the bridge and it's pretty much impossible to fret 22-24 frets without lifting your hand up like you would on an acoustic guitar. The pickups sound excellent...

    BC Rich Bridge Issues

I have a BC Rich Heritage Classic Mockingbird that comes stock with the BC Rich locking bridge. This bridge is just revolting, I don't really see the need for a locking bridge, but whatever. A big problem is the fact that it doesn't have anything to hold it in place or adjust it easily when you...

    floating thumb techniqe

Well, I can get a fairly aggressive stroke, but then again, I don't like slamming the strings, as long as it's loud, it's good for me, if I need any more, I just use a pick.

    Ibanez SR506

How do they stack up against the newer ones?

    Ibanez SR506

Ah, cool, wasn't able to find much info out there about older models. Same pickups I assume? Also, does it not have a pickup blend?

    Ibanez SR506

I was looking at an SR506 on craigslist, but it has me a little confused. I'm assuming it's an older model or something, but it's possible it's fake, I suppose. Anyway, the body is a different color, it has simpler fretboard inlays and 4 EQ knobs instead of 5. Anyone know anything about whether...

    floating thumb techniqe

I've never really liked anchoring, even on guitar, most people seem to think you need to be somewhat tense to pick or pluck, but once you can get used to completely relaxing your hand, it does make a big difference. If you just float, you don't have to worry about finding that one spot that...

    2 or 3 picking fingers?

It's funny that I literally just found this thread with google, it has been dead for 12 years and you just happened to revive it right when I find it...just had to point out that timing. Also, Steve Harris is famous for playing with 3 fingers. I'm trying to figure out whether ring middle index...

    Active EQ

I'm not really sure what output they are, but it's only a 2 band EQ with a pickup blend, it doesn't really sound super high output, but then again, I can't really compare them to other pickups, but considering BC Rich and EMG are BC Rich's main high end pickup, they'll probably swap.

    Active EQ

So I can just drop EMGs straight in, no problem?

    Active EQ

Total newbie question, but I know little about bass electronics. If a bass has an active EQ, can you just drop in active electronics or are passive pickups the only option without replacing everything? Would I be correct in assuming EMGs come with their necessary electronics like their guitars...

The official "Show your basses" thread part 19!

Hmm, interesting, I never had an issue with the upper horn, does it stab you or something? The Mockingbird is probably my favorite design for a guitar/bass, though I'd probably prefer the guitar version, the neck on this thing is about as wide as a 5 string or something
