How do I know when to stop sanding?

@Reedt2000 thanks a lot! I’ll double check again. Overall I’ve learned a ton about sanding/oiling and patience. I’m mostly happy with my own work and on the next one I’ll be even better! I have two issues with this order. I specifically asked Steve to give me a standard P bass distance between...

How do I know when to stop sanding?

Also the bridge is corian if I’m not mistaken so it’s a type of plastic and not metal. I’m not sure if putting a cavity in and placing the ground wire under would do anything. Maybe I should get a metal bridge??

How do I know when to stop sanding?

That must have been an accident haha. I thought that was the issue as well and removed it and the issue persists. I feel like I’ve wired it correctly. Does the issue have anything to do with the bridge ground wire? Steve didn’t provide a cavity for the ground so the ground wire is just sitting...

How do I know when to stop sanding?

Bass is done! I’m having a wiring issue. The volume of the bass is always on even when I turn everything to 0. What am I wiring wrong here?

How do I know when to stop sanding?

Ok everyone so I received my bass back from the repairman and sanded the bass down to 600 and started doing the tung oil finish. I’ve been waiting 24 hours between each oiling but after today’s oiling (3rd so far) my bass was immediately sticky? It was sliiiiiightly sticky before. Am I doing...

How do I know when to stop sanding?

In a foamed up, regular box. The box came broken and with peanuts falling out everywhere. Looks like it was tossed and thrashed around for 3 weeks before I picked it up.

How do I know when to stop sanding?

No, I put it in my gig bag after. I brought mine with me because I had a feeling it was going to arrive broken.

How do I know when to stop sanding?

Quick update, everyone. After 3 weeks being lost in shipping with no where to be found, my bass finally came up at the warehouse broken in half by FedEx :D I can’t believe I had to go to the facility myself to pick my bass up (I thought this was a delivery service?) and then as soon as I open...

How do I know when to stop sanding?

Hey, all! I have a custom wishbass coming in unfinished. It’s sanded to 100 now and I plan to take it down maybe to 12000 mesh pad or so before bringing it to a luthier to oil it. It’s an ash body with a walnut top and lead wood fingerboard. I’ve never done this before so my questions are, what...

    NBD Wishbass headless fretless project

Man this is incredible! Your skills are clear and it was real fun to follow the initial thread and now see this to completion. I see you’re from LA, I am too! I’ve got a Wishbass coming in, wonder if I could hire you to work on mine when it arrives?
