    Geddy's Ashly Preamp Setup Question

They are all SC-40's. The bottom one is a "Blue Face" version of the SC-40. I have seen a live shot where only the Blue Face is switched on. I'm assuming he got that mid tour or something and the others were merely backups

Red Schecter C-5 GT...short run, mistake or Guitar Center one off?

I probably will, just to find out what kind of pickups are in it. Curious to see if they are indeed EMG 607's

Red Schecter C-5 GT...short run, mistake or Guitar Center one off?

I would assume so too. Maybe they made a batch from the Indonesian factory as a test on how they sold before they committed the higher end S. Korean made ones, where they make the purple and charcoal ones that are on the website.

Red Schecter C-5 GT...short run, mistake or Guitar Center one off?

I recently bought a Red Schecter C-5 GT at Guitar Center. I can't find it anywhere on the internet! I see Red C-4's but no 5's. On the Schecter website the available colors are Purple and Charcoal, no red. The one I have is made in Indonesia and the C-5 GTs Schecter is making now are S.Korean...

Is it "cooler" to play a 4 string bass?

Of course 4 string is "cooler" Name one cool bass player that inspired you that played anything other than a four string EXCLUSIVELY. Les Claypool, Feildy? Clowns!

Who's your "I just don't get it" artist?

I remember being blown away by Les Claypool and Primus when they first broke but now when I listen to them it just comes across as dated 90's garbage. Dude can't sing (yeah I know that's the whole point but it's stupid!), his bass playing is is way overrated gymnastics. No "Primus sucks" for real.

Have you regretted selling a bass in the past.

Like a previous poster said "All of them" My Spector NS-2 tops the list. Along with my 80's Aria Pro II, My Peavey Dyna Bass with Kahler tremolo, Custom made Precision with Jazz neck made by that tech at World of Strings in Long Beach CA. My Schecter Studio 5. That ones not hard to find but I've...

Who was the player(s) that made you want to play bass?

Steve Harris. Never been able to shake his influence from my playing, and I play a five string in a metalcore band!

    Singing over complicated basslines

I really hope this doesn't oversimplify things but the way I do it is to make the vocal line and the bass line one. I match every word, note and rhythm between the bass part and vocal line in time until it flows. I figure out what notes on the bass and what words I can sing at the same time...

    Underappreciated Bassists in famous bands

NOT DISSING IAN HERE. One of my favorite bass players too, but he didnt play on Painkiller, it's all programmed synth bass. As for the original poster, Dave Holland is one of the most underappreciated drummers in famous bands. Was he as "good" as Binks or Travis? No, but he WAS the drummer on...

    Underappreciated Bassists in famous bands

Eddie Jackson-Queensryche His tone and playing are a huge part of their sound. It was more than a great bass line or holding down the bottom, he colored their sound and gave it a heaviness. I've seen great Queensryche tribute bands where the bass parts were right but the tone was understated...
