i just got a new 5 string today and the action is really low. It won't even tune. When I press on the frets on the B string, there's no downward movement until the 10th fret. I've never adjusted a bass before so I'm not sure what exactly needs to be adjusted.
Does learning a new instrument actually improve your bass playing? How? Between upright bass and violin. Which would you guys recommend? Or, should the new instrument not be a string at all?
I know a few like Wynonas big brown beaver, my name is mud, john the fisherman, Harold of the rocks and like 10 or so Geddy bass lines. I think a good bass line is something that is technical and melodic. I want to make stuff like that but it's hard
I've been having a hard time composing bass lines. I know major scales and a few ways to play them but I can't put them together to make good music. I really want to compose bass lines that are a mix between Les Claypool and Geddy. How do I do it?
