It is indeed, and that's my '79 T-40, to complete my all-Peavey rig.

There was enough there (though I wouldn't mind pairing it with another cab--it's just not practical). The 18 moves a lot of air. I actually got a couple compliments on it's "heaviosity." ;)

Here's a pic of my 1810 (which I thought was a 1516) during its inaugural gig. Picture's not the greatest quality. Invalid Link Removed

Peavey Super Festival bass rig....this looks pretty sick

I tried that rig out and it sounded good to my ears. But the homemade cab was just too big, and he didn't want to sell the head separately. Someone took the whole thing away for $275. They got a pretty good deal, in my opinion.

Haha, I'll see what I can do. Would you believe I'm possibly the last man on earth without a digital camera? And thank you again for all your help, hrgiger.

    Peavey 1516 questions

Just picked up the 1810 yesterday. Only got to play it for about 20 minutes or so, but I liked it straight away. Yes, it's big and it's heavy, but it puts out a big and heavy sound. I think I'm gonna have a lot of fun with it. And thanks for your help in answering my questions.

    Peavey 1516 questions

Hehe, I just hope I can move the thing! Hopefully, the moderately smaller size of the 1810 (versus the 1820) will make transporting it feasible. Truth be told I'd much rather have an 18 and two 10s than a 15 and two 8s. And hopefully the cab sounds good! Who knows what kind of paces that...

    Peavey 1516 questions

Thanks, and as it turns out, the cab is actually an 1810, which someone above described as good for "rumble and clank" which probalbly isn't too far off from what my band sounds like, haha. Only one way to find out and that's try it out, I guess, hopefully soon.

    Peavey 1516 questions

As it turns out, this is exactly the case. The cab I'm going to look at is an 1810, which on the one hand is great in terms of the sound I'm going for. On the other hand, it's size may be prohibitive. I'll find out soon enough, I suppose.

    Peavey 1516 questions

hrgiger, once again, thanks! That chart is very helpful. For some reason I thought the 1505 was being used in newer cabs. I've actually got a Mark III Series combo with the same speaker and quite like it. Thanks for reassuring me about the 1516; it sounds like a good cab for my application...

    Peavey 1516 questions

This is my main concern: the power. Is it gig-worthy? We play places without PA support on occasion, (not huge places or big crowds by any means) and while our guitarist is currently only playing through a combo, he's looking to upgrade to a 4x12 setup soon. Unfortunately, I only have the means...

    Peavey 1516 questions

Yeah, the only silver domes I've see are on older Black Widows. Thanks for the pics, hrgiger. They'll come in handy when I actually get a chance to see the cab in person, hopefully soon.

Once again, thank you for your help. This forum's been a great resource. Hopefully this thing will turn out to be a nice find.

    Peavey 1516 questions

First off, thanks to all who've responded. It's very helpful. It seems like the 1516 is a fairly compact workhorse, which is what I'm looking for (really, I'm only looking for a 1x15, but if you can throw a couple 8s into the deal, why not, right?) JTE, the cab I'm looking at has independent...
