I'm a shorter player and wonder in my way of thinking which is usually wrong that a five string would help in having to reach all the way to the nut for the lower notes reducing the stretch required as well as reducing the spacing between frets for the lower notes.

The fender site says urethane finish on the 2013 geddy Lee spec but the picture looks like it's satin almost white like a squier maple neck. So the question is it gloss or satin? Anyone here know?
