    tuner pedals causing distortion

Many thanks for all the input. I have a CIOKS DC 7 powering the Donner plus MXR chorus, MXR octave, and Keeley compressor. Regarding the kind of distortion, it sounds sort of like a cross between tube and a low battery. My Genzler has a tuner out so that looks like the way forward. Again, I...

    tuner pedals causing distortion

I tried a passive bass this morning and no distortion! So I tried my Skjold again in both active and passive modes. No distortion in either mode! Then plugged in an active bass and got the distortion as before. In summary, I use the tuner and after hearing distortion I unplug the tuner, go...

    tuner pedals causing distortion

Well, I tried a different bass. Same result. Regarding overvolting, KLIQ tech support told me the pedal simply takes the power it needs. I asked them if this problem happens to anyone else and they said yes but rarely.

    tuner pedals causing distortion

I haven't tried plugging the tuner into the "tuner out" on the back of the Genzler. Guess I will.

    tuner pedals causing distortion

BTW, it's the same experience with a Fender Rumble as well as a Genzler Magellan 800.

    tuner pedals causing distortion

Yes, I isolated the latest pedal, a Donner Dt-1, and there was the distortion after maybe a couple minutes. Then I plugged in direct to my amp, no tuner, and no distortion anymore. Weirdest thing.

    tuner pedals causing distortion

I tried turning down the volume on the bass (nice idea), and the same distortion through the tuner. just weird.

    tuner pedals causing distortion

The Sonic Research is too dim for me. At a recent gig the sun was too bright for me to see my clip-on tuner's readout so I want to replace it with a display bright enough in all circumstances.

These tuners I've tried mute when turned on. I will check out the Sonic. Have not tried that yet. thx.

    tuner pedals causing distortion

Thanks for the input. bass is active. Tuners include a Donner Dt-1 and KLIQ Tiny Tune. I forget the other brands, having returned them long ago.

    tuner pedals causing distortion

I've now tried four tuner pedal brands and they all distort my bass. I've put them at the beginning of the effects chain, at the end, and isolated was well. Without the tuner in the chain, no distortion. Anyone else experience this, and is there a fix? Thanks!

    Quilter Labs InterBass!

OMG, I brought it to my jazz trio gig last night. Effortless volume. Didn't have to push it. Bandmates commented on the really great tone. You know when you try a new bass and it brings out new musical ideas from you? I didn't think an amp would do that, but this one did. I just set everything...
