    Wanted to add that solid state (not D class) works really great in a situation where you are playing busy in the lower register, because of the nature of tubes and its inherent compression the sound "blossoms", so solid state works awesome in this instance...     Got a Bugera Veyron and it sounds awesome... Tube preamp and "d"class amplificacion and also inexpensive. Also love tech21 gear which is solid state...tube stuff sounds lovely but the weight is impractical

    I like med picks(.72-.75mm) vs 1mm and it's very important to relax the picking hand and hold your pick gently as well, this will avoid cramping. Also start jamming to some AC/DC tunes Cliif is a pick player and has the most solid eight notes out there
