Club Clement (Part 7: Post your basses here)

Thought I'd post my new build in the works. I have been so pleased with Kim #354 and was looking for a dual coil build with a different wood combination, so I placed an order for this:

Classic 5-String Kim #381
2-21-15 Quilt Kim top with accent veneer
Limba 2-piece body
5-piece laminated maple neck w/ bubinga stringers
Fretted Macassar ebony board (34" scale, 24 fret) with lumina side dots
Pickup ramp (non-radiused, screwed)
Nordstrand Dual Coil 5 Pickups (Parallel Wind, Bartolini P2 size)
DPDT series/parallel/single coil switches (ON/ON/ON)
Nordstrand 3B-4a preamp (2 pickup - 4 Knob, black)
  1. Volume/Volume Stack
  2. Passive Tone (Pull Passive)
  3. Mid (pull frequency selector, 500/800 Hz)
  4. Treble/Bass Stack
Black HipShot A-Style Bridge, 19mm spacing
Black angled HipShot UltraLite Tuning Gears
DR SUNBEAMS Nickel Plated Steel Bass Strings - 5-String Set Medium 125
Protec Contego Pro Case

Here are the pics available at this point:

Clement #381 progress - Body and neck are shaped and drilled. Pickup and bridge locations are marked, ready for pickup routing and final body shaping. I think that limba has an exotic grain that would look fine on its own without a premium top but I'm a sucker for quilt maple. IME with my other Kim, the 5-piece laminate neck with wide stance 5-bolt attachment makes for a very solid low end with no dead spots.

Clement #381 progress - here it is assembled. The pickup alignment is right on the money. These pics were taken in bright sun but show how it's coming together. It still has a few things to be installed before final sanding and the oil finish.
