It is a heavy bass, no doubt. Since I’m pushing 70, I got a very nice heavily padded strap that helps quite a bit.

Pretty tough call. For me, it's getting really hard listening to venue owners insisting on getting a head count from you before they'll even consider having you. I play with people who do all original music, as well as a band that does old time fiddle tunes and traditional music. We'll always...

I use the same yellow foam ones I use for riding a motorcycle. Not optimal sound quality wise, but I'm freaked about loosing more hearing.Works for me.

I'm not a doctor, but I have severe tinnitus and hearing losses in both ears. I've been playing for over 40 years. Not all of it was caused by music, but not using hearing protection was a dumb move.
