Rick Turner fans... Here's a tremendous bargain for you. I'm sure several of you are going to rush to jump on this one right away:
1981 RICK TURNER MODEL 1 Bass Excellent Condition Indian RW Honduras MH W/HSC | eBay
Well, if you guys have been watching reverb, you would have noticed that I've posted, removed, and reposted my Renaissance a few times over the past month, going back and forth as I've been playing it and getting the feel for it and it's sound. Well, I just plugged it into my SF-2...Holy Cow what a sound...It's a Keeper!![]()

Assuming they are the same as that on the old Highlander preamps in Rens, one would be gain, the other a mild bass boost. But, I could be totally wrong about this, too.Rick Turner Electroline owners- Do any of you know what the 2 blue trim pots on the preamp board are for? Thanks!

Now, what do I do next? Maybe practice?
We did that kind of thing all the time when we were little kids. We're (mostly) still here!Curiosity got the best of me although I was a bit afraid of screwing something up, but I just tried to adjust/turn them while plugged in.

Here's my Electroline. Amazing tone, action like glass. Sold it once and bought it back.

as much as I liked my electroline, I simply cant do the weight or scale anymore due to ...um...things that show up when you OLD. However, i still play my Ren deuce very day.Looks like a slab of mahogany on your Electroline. Very nice.
I need to get my Turners out and play on them some this afternoon. Just finished piecing together a modular rig from Mesa and Bag End components that'll be lighter weight. Need to try the Renaissance basses through it. Two more weeks of physical therapy, and it's back to work. (and playing bass!)

big strap yes..but maybe scale/weight. just me. i have an old guy strap too on my stingray/etc..but...the balance/playability of my ren erases all that.It is a heavy bass, no doubt. Since I’m pushing 70, I got a very nice heavily padded strap that helps quite a bit.
