Thanks Carl, Then, you don't worry about the playable part of the string wrapping around the peg? What brand / type of strings are you using?

I just got a Palatino VE-500 and I have a concern about the string length. I know that the scale of the bass is shorter by about an inch or so, so that 3/4-scale are a little on the long side and that there is a significant amount of the playable part of the strings are wrapped around the peg...
