Pickup comparison 60cs vs 62 in P bass

I know this is an old topic, but on this board there seems to several differing claims about these pickups. Several users have said that post 2012 the pickups are 62CS , while most say 60CS. Both maybe ? Anyway the best bet for me is just to swap them and see. But this also makes me wonder...

Pickup comparison 60cs vs 62 in P bass

I recently bought a simple 2012 Fender USA P bass. From appearance the pickups look like they are the 60 custom shop. It sounds "OK". I have set of 62 custom shop pickups I bought for past projects. Can anyone offer thoughts on the difference I might see if I switch them. Will the...

Blown Speaker or so I thought ... but maybe

I know almost nothing about amp/speaker construction. My Yorkville xm100 amp seemed to lose most of its volume and sounded rough. Buzzy but more rough, cutting in and out. Unplayable. My headphones worked fine when plugged in. I took the speaker out and didn't see anything odd and it seemed...

    "Vintage" Fender P-Bass Tone

thanks James Muddier is concerning, but it makes sense that the pot/Cap relationship plays into it before you can determine how much impact you will see. So i went through my parts box ... no .1 cap. :-(

Yahboy I think you have it right , I am curious about the .1 cap though. "some say" cap makes no difference I think they do. Can you or someone explain the expected impact of the .1 cap ? Can of worms ??? Sorry

Walterw Thanks I think that is more likely. Crap soldering I bet. Getting a new cable and a few new jack ends to sort out my weak cables.

was looking at a Japanese Geddy Lee ... but

So I went back into talkbass search function and yep quite a few neck comments. Truss rods it seems come up quite often. At least often by my thinking , it may be that this is the place I would likely see those types of comments. Also Given they were MIM , MIJ and MIA it makes for a...

was looking at a Japanese Geddy Lee ... but

I was looking at buying a Japanese Geddy Lee. But it seems all I see here posts detailing neck issues . Seems its constant need for adjustment, truss rod issues , bent necks , on an on. Is this an issue with the Geddy Lee bass regardless of where they are made ? Thanks

    Cable impact on amp volume

For years I have always re soldered my cables when a solder joint breaks and the cable stops working. I have a mix of "ok" cables , quality cables and a few DIY cables, So after searching this site without seeing anything related, I have a question. One of my older favorite cables...
