I know this is an old thread but I think I need a DI for recording purposes, though my Audient interface has a (supposedly decent) JFET DI. Does anyone have experience with that vs a dedicated DI? But what I really want to do is record a DI signal and an amp at the same time, so one of these DIs...

Agreed. It's got to be the 751. I heard a small duo at an outdoor/patio tavern set up. It was an acoustic guitar player/singer and the bass player was using a Geddy Lee sig jazz bass and an Aguilar 750ish something through 2 1x12 cabs...best tone I've ever heard. And I'm a (converted) P bass...

would the mesa 212 cab be considered a big cab or efficient enough? I know it sure sounded loud enough in the store. I only had the master on 8 or 9:00 position with the gain at noon. I didn't dare try it any louder than that. I already thought I was calling enough attention to myself.

I did also play with the different settings on the M6- the mid shaping. I found it to be versatile, but I don't need versatile (at least I don't think I do) just one really good sound. Once I find it I don't change it. And the fewer knobs to mess with the better. To me the M3 sounded better...
