    Cab / amp cover?

Hey all... I got a GK 410MBE a few weeks ago and I'm looking to get a cover for it. I'll be doing some local gigging, so I'd like to get something that will protect it from scuffs and scratches. I've seen a few vendors on eBay which make custom covers (quilted fabric, neoprene, marine...

    Michael Anthony...

I love Geddy Lee and Chris Squire , but I also like Michael Anthony, Adam Clayton, and Gene Simmons (and also Sting and Timothy B. Schmidt  ). Whether it's Michael Anthony's 8th notes, Adam Clayton's 4-notes-per-song, Gene Simmons' simple melodic phrases, Sting's repetitive patterns, or...

When did YOU first realize you wanted to play bass?

Lots of cool responses. :) Bass is definitely where it's at. Who wants to sit behind a drum kit all night, banging away in relative obscurity? EVERYONE plays guitar...how pedestrian. But, bassist LAY IT DOWN!!! lol MAKE THE WHOLE ROOM RUMBLE!!!

How to pronounce "Piezo" pickups properly!

I'm pretty sure it's... pee-AY-zo 3 syllables. The "ay" rhymes with "hay". The "zo" rhymes with "dough".

When did YOU first realize you wanted to play bass?

Hey guys... Not sure if this was covered in the past (I did a cursory search)... When did YOU first realize you wanted to play bass? I realized it as a child, listening to Kiss...back in 1979 (I was 12). I used to, subconsciously, focus in on Gene Simmons' melodic bass lines...

Famous guitarists who played bass on occasion

Canadian rocker Bryan Adams, who normally plays rhythm guitar, played bass on one of his tours, a few years ago.

Bass Pedal (Taurus, Roland, MIDI, etc) Club?

Not sure if this qualifies, but I have an old set of MIDI Step bass pedals (1-octave, non-velocity-sensitive) which I use to play my Roland X7 synth/sampler. I use them to play monophonic parts (string synths, bass synths, etc.). They can also be used to trigger sampled synth pads, guitar...

    Entry level= $700? Really????

IMO (street prices, new)... $299 and under = entry level $300 to $799 = mid-range $800+ = high end FWIW...I don't care what anyone says...$800 is a lot of money...especially for a beginner. I don't play bass for a living, but I could afford a $2500 bass. The question is, do I want a bass with...

    Volume control

I don't think an inline volume control exists that will be able to handle the output of your Shuttle 12. It sounds kind of hodge-podge...maybe, even risky (both to the speaker and your amp). You don't want your amp to pop or your volume control to catlch fire...lol It sounds like you're wanting...

Hmm...no comments. I think I need to put Genz Benz, Ampeg, Geddy, or Myung in the subject line, next time...LOL!!!
