How to pronounce "Piezo" pickups properly!

Is it "pie" -zo or "Pee -eh" zo?

Its time to settle this once and for all!

(I am of course refering to the pronounciation of the tiny treblesome pickups that live in your bridge. (If you have em that is.)

Piezo is a Greek word and according to a Greek TBer, the proper pronunciation is pee-eh-zo.

So I "was" right by pronouncing it it pee eh zo...whew!
It just seemed silly to me to hear people on youtube and other places pronounce it "pie" zo.

Modern under saddle pickups by companies like LR Baggs, Highlander, and others have gone way beyond the "Quacky-clackity piezo-pressure sensitive pickup sound"

I like Pee eh zo type of sound to it. It seems to sound more phonetically correct due to its origin. Pie Zo reminds me of uncultured country bumpkin talk (not to sound offense)

But than again I am also the white dude that rolls his R's and adds to accent when saying "Rrreggae Tone" (with emphasis on the "T")

I do not like when people ra caaatta (like a Boston accent) I go with Ri-kotta.

Alas, we double bassists are stuck with "pee-eh-zos" for the foreseeable future. I think that is the most defensible pronunciation, but a sound engineer I trust a great deal say "pie-zo."

During the time I was still figuring out life, I got my BS in Ceramic Engineering. Piezo materials are ceramics.

The phonetic above is correct, no matter how other non-technical, pretentious wanna bees want to say it.

PEE-AY-ZO with a long O sound.
