+1 on the Xotic BB. That said, I would be shocked if you couldn’t achieve what you’re after with what you have. A lot of knobs there are likely not helping to narrow it down. Take a couple of your favorites to rehearsal and adjust them to sound as close as you can to simply boost your clean amp...

I have the same exact bass (2011) with no mods. I love the dark sunburst these have. I’ve only ever thought about doing a series/parallel switch but I’ll save that for a project bass someday.
