Who’s making a good rat with clean blend?

I was going to suggest one I rarely see mentioned around here but it appears to be out of stock...

Gremlin Machine Shop (builder) System Collapse MKII. Clean blend, 2 band EQ and a higher distortion option as well.

I haven't really used mine since I got my Locust Star (another great Rat suggestion, no clean blend but doesn't need it, however not always easy to acquire) but I just plugged it in again it is really good. Gets really doomy if you run it through their Ceremonial Preamp.

However they do seem to have some super version called Vacant Planets with both of those pedals in one case with an FX loop in between if you want. Might be pricey but that System Collapse into Ceremonial combo slays.

Looks like the OP found a box. For others and/or future reference The Zero Fret makes a BRR which is a Black Russian Muff filter on a Rat clipping circuit. There’s a bass version with a clean blend option.

First post. Hooray! That Tremond posted above looks great.

As a guitar player I don't like Rats. I had one of the Big Box Reissue Rats. It just killed the low end. My brother (a bass player) wanted to do some mods to it so I let him go for it.

First he did the Ruetz Mod. This boosts the low end but takes away some of the high gain (still plenty of gain though). He added a toggle switch to go between the mod version and stock version.

He then found plans online to add a clean blend pot. Plenty of room to do so in the big box Rat. It worked quite well.

While these mods made the pedal better the Rat still wasn't my thing. I ended up trading it to my brother. Now that I'm playing bass more often I kind of wish I still had it but he won't give it back.

TL;DR: find any Rat and add a clean blend pot. I'd also suggest looking into doing the Ruetz Mod. There are a few websites with schematics to do both. Sadly I didn't do the mods on mine (my brother did) so I can't tell you how easy/difficult the mods are.

I just ordered a blower box deluxe (deluxe has the clean blend) from idiot box in the black friday sale.
All the demo videos sounded up my alley
I was going to recommend the Idiotbox BB Deluxe myself. It has clean blend, but even better, the clean blend has a variable low pass filter. So much versatility! You can pass clean lows only if you want, but I prefer to pass clean mids as well, rolling off the clean highs.

I really want to try the Tremond at some point, it's been recommended by some Rat afficionados I know.
