I don't really practice scales as much as the 1-4-5 method (in the key of C it would be C F G) and their alternate notes and a few runs and stuff. I practice along side a radio to see if I can tell the key they are in and how to expect chord changes.
I was searching for the meanings of the numbers on string, the guages, because my question was, do 65 - 135 sound deeper than 45 - 125? Haven't found an answer yet, but I would think a 0.65 would have a deeper sound than 0.45
