    Aklot Helix Series PJ4

It really was. Something about finding a low budget bass that checks all you boxes and exceeds every expectation by a mile.

    Aklot Helix Series PJ4

It is a ton of fun to play. There was just something about it that just intrigued the hell out of me. I guess, for some reason, it just spoke to me.

    Aklot Helix Series PJ4

Recently came across a “budget friendly beginner bass guitar”. It was an Aklot Helix Series PJ4. While looking over the specs, it said it had a “roasted maple neck”. The more I read, the more intriguing this little bass became. The picture of the used bass still had the plastic on the pick guard...

Which nut would you use on a Spector Performer?

Never used our local guy. Everyone talks highly of his work.

Which nut would you use on a Spector Performer?

I’ll let someone else do the swap out. I don’t have to tools nor the expertise to pull it off. I could really screw that up. 😊

Which nut would you use on a Spector Performer?

I would not even attempt to replace the nut myself. I would definitely use a qualified tech to make the change for me. I don’t have any of the tools needed to this.

Excellent qualities. Thanks for the suggestion.

Which nut would you use on a Spector Performer?

There is nothing that I am aware of wrong with the existing nut. It has an upgraded bridge and upgraded tuners. It has the EMG SSD soap bar humbucker pickups that sound great. Nut is about all I got left to upgrade.

Which nut would you use on a Spector Performer?

Thinking about upgrading the nut on my Spector Performer 4. Pretty sure the nut that is on it now is plastic. Never upgrade the nut on a bass before. Which would be the best choice; roller nut, bone, brass, or graphite? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

    Killer City Guitars Bass Strings

Those strings are still "killer" after about 8 years. I really like to patronize places that have a great product with great customer service, which can ve a rarity these days.

    Killer City Guitars Bass Strings

I got my strings in late '18, best I can remember. Those strings still stay in tune and still sound great.

    Killer City Guitars Bass Strings

Yes, they were nickel rounds. You are probably right that the company didn’t make it. I think Rona hit and like a lot of businesses, they didn’t make it. Sure wish they would have. I remember emailing the owner with a question and he replies back promptly and they had great customer service. I...

    Killer City Guitars Bass Strings

About 7 or 8 years ago I ordered some bass strings from a company called Killer City Guitars out of Kansas City. They were a start up company that produced great strings. I can’t seem to find them now. Has anyone ever used these strings? Are they still in business? I would love to get some more...

    WD-40 Specialist Contact Cleaner

Should I use the f4 or the f5. It says the DeOxit F4 is made for faders, switches and pots. Shouldn't I use this instead of the F5?

    WD-40 Specialist Contact Cleaner

Thanks everyone. I am gonna order some deoxit and see how it does. Then, I’ll go from there.
