It is a bit of a cliche I admit, but too dang cold here to drag all my basses outside for a better picture. Maybe in the spring!

Howdy. I used "allegedly" as I had been pricing these same pickups for another project and was having a hard time believing that Gretsch would have used these pups ( $300 retail) in a Korean built instrument. Seemed more likely that this was a "licensed By" TV Jones situation. Just wondered if...

Hey There. I just recently picked up a G5123B in classic Gretsch orange. 32" scale, TV Jones Thundertrons (allegedly). I do have some issues/questions so hopefully someone here can lend a hand. Thanks in Advance!

That one random song your cover band does that nobody else does.

Hot Smoke and Sassafrass by the Bubble Puppy. ( We also inserted "Linus and Lucy" in the middle section.) Was fun to watch people dance to this.

Still a part of our setlist. Almost every night.

We used to do "If I didn't Love You" from the same album. Always fun working up a Squeeze song!

What was your first bass amp and how bad was it?

I had the same one. really awful.

What was your first bass amp and how bad was it?

My first bass amp was a spanking new (in about 1971) Gibson "Thor". A whopping 50 watts of Solid State crap into two 10's. It wasn't long before i upgraded to a Fender Bassman 10, with 4 -10's. That's one I should have held onto. Not for bass, but it was a killer guitar amp!

    Hartke LX5500 and LX8500 amps!

Thanks for the tip on the case. Most worthwhile thing I'll read on the interwebs all day!

Anyone recognize the bass in this clip?

The Blonde SB60 was the first good bass I owned in HS. Mine was a 75' ( purchased new) and I would love to find another, but not for $1K+. (Guess I should have kept mine). After 1975 they went to a 4 on the side head stock and a good friend has one of those.
