Oh man so cool! I’m a big Oteil fan, met him briefly long ago. Very down to earth and obviously monster player and singer.

Great to hear about the arm contour. And thanks for the perspective on the strings, I’ll keep an open mind about that. Tapes are definitely muted (some would say dull) but beyond the sound, the thing I really love is how effortless they are to play. I’ve never quite found the same with any metal...

Ah the Raven Labs unit takes me back, I used to run a DTAR Solstice years ago for the same purpose with a couple different instruments. Yes it’s more to fiddle with but the granular control is fantastic. That pic above of your bass is outstanding! I’ve seen it in other posts but the lighting or...

Thanks man! I recall reading some of your past posts about those issues. I got deep into the weeds with piezo’s long ago with multiple EUBs. FWIW I had the best luck and results with stuff from Artecsound.com <Acoustic professionalist group>, though that was many years ago so maybe there’s...

Hope everyone has been doing well. I've been really busy and haven't posted much in a while. Andy, I just grabbed the Slow Tiger album, looking forward to listening! I'm looking for input from the brain trust on the MK hollowbody model. I've been playing a chambered fretless 5 string Veillette...

Best Bass to amp wireless rig

Great timing with this thread @dbsfgyd1. Up until recently I had been completely satisfied with my Nux C-5RC for several years and 50+ gigs. Then for the first time ever they freaked out mid-set and I had to go wired. I haven’t been able to recreate it since but it has me thinking. We were the...

Double Bass Ergo megathread part II

Sounds like the piezo(s) is either misaligned with the bridge, or perhaps failing (wiring, delamination, etc.) IIRC the majority of Ergo's Jessie produced had one or two very basic disk piezos. If you search back through this thread you should find posts from me on replacing them with a few...

    YAMAHA TRB CLUB

Nice bass! IIRC the earlier TRB6s has split coils with a dummy/phantom coil to provide humbucking. That said I’ve never heard a TRB-6P (still own) or the TRBJP that sounded Pish. Not sure at all about the TRB6ii config though, which I think has similar looking pickups to your bass above.

If you search for posts from me in this thread, I think I listed several sources. Don’t sleep on rig exchange either!

I'd say you win the prize for most unique TRB! Makes me think BB and TRB morphed. Maybe Yamaha will see this and release something new ;-)

Club Bergantino! Let's See Those Rigs!

I don’t know if it’s a 1:1 match, but I’ve posted a few B|Amp preset configs in this thread. At the very least it might give you some ideas, assuming some of the parameters are the same.

Martin making a statement about refining his vision. When I picked up my bass a while back he mentioned he’d been thinking about doing this. Happy for him achieving it!
