I have an EA iAMP 600, EA cabs. It is awesome for double bass! It has also struggled with reliabilty issues from day one. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter how good the sound, if your amp dies on a gig ....

I've found the GK1001RB to be great for electric, because it slightly colours the sound to punch certain frequencies throught the mix. For clear/transparent upright pickups, with flat speakers, the GK "colour" punching those same frequencies makes the upright "honky" and prone to feedback...

Totally agree with this. EA iAMP600 with 2 x EA cabs is best for me. Excellent for Upright - adequate for electric.
