    vt bass or zoom B3?

Apologies if this has already been asked. Based purely on Ampeg SVT sounds, which is the most authentic sounding? B3 or VT Bass?

My new must-have mod: boutique thumbrests!

Thanks Guys - its great to know that my little TRs make a difference and I really appreciate you taking the time to let people know! I'm also making low-profile ones now for those who find the standard variety too high. They look the same but are a little more streamlined and will be up on...

Roland Cube 100 - speaker question

I did it with a Deltalite 2512 on a Cube Bass 100. The speaker cut-out needed some(alot) adjustment to fit the new speaker's thicker basket. As the 2512's frame was cast, it was thicker than the Roland's pressed steel one - this caused some problems with it fouling the grille. It did...

    Roland Cube Bass 100 question

The Cube 100 puts out 100 watts into its internal speaker. If you add an extension speaker, it will put out 50 watts into each speaker. You won't get much more volume but what you WILL get is a fuller sound.

Looking into buying a small combo amp for practices

Roland Bass Cube 100 is my choice for rehearsals and small/medium gigs. Compact, well built, enough volume to compete with a loud-ish drummer and great sound; although slightly heavier (@ approx. 30 lbs) than the new ultra-lite combos. Very good DI too.

Need help - getting small shocks from my mic

Does the PA mixer have a facility to supply Phantom Power for powered mics? If it does . . . switch it off! If its not that; get it checked out by an electrician pronto.

Opinions on the Roland CB-100 1x12 combo (bass cube, 100 watts)

This is interesting! Its a great amp. I use a Roland Cube 100 for rehearsals and small gigs and often wondered how much difference adding an extension speaker would make. I was under the impression that the extra speaker didn't add any more watts, instead splitting the available power...

    kinds of rosewood...

Brazilian is lovely; dense, oily and lots of colour variation, dark streaks etc . . . virtually unobtainable (here in the UK anyway) and usually used for antique furniture restoration. Its now subject to CITES agreements and cannot be exported without a licence even as part of an object such as...

    What's that buzzing noise?

I've had a similar problem with certain venue's flourescent lights; some places its really bad but at others I don't have any problem at all . . . even using different amps . . . I don't let it worry me too much though it can be very annoying!
