When I play at home, I push the treble and bass knobs back in and set master at 1½. Master at this level is for gigging...even at 2 is too loud for personal practice at home...I will give your suggestion a try. On volume do you mean master, cause the volume on the overdrive channel is already...

JA you may be right...i haven't sampled the 800, but this delivers such a wide hefty band of bass frequency that I can't imagine what the 800 would do, or why I would need it. 800 was available when I bought mine, but opted to go the established model rather than try the new. I'm not unhappy...
