I am a fretless player who started out on the cello. I played for 2 years and abandoned it in favor of my precious fretless jazz. I want to pick it up again after 10 years to be able to add some cello to my recordings (nothing too complicated, don't want to be yo yo ma or anything). I it has...
I never said I was rockefeller, smartass... but your attempt at humor did prompt me to look on the rickenbacker site to find out that I can just order it fretless from th start! Needless to say I am stoked
Lol.. I understand this model is a neck thru and will be useless after the neck goes on me. But I know jaco gigged with the bass of doom for years without replaacing the neck. Money is luckily not an issue here so ifigure what the hell since ieven my beloved jazz cannot top the 4003 in sound
I am considering doing this strictly for recording. I will be using roto swingbass (**** DR) and I anticipate playing it foran hour a day. How long will this baby be able to serve me? I will be using epoxy so be mindful of that. Is this a kick ass idea or what?
That's more like it. Thoughtful posts, guys like the one directly above.
Yeah, I've been listening to "frances the mute" a bunch lately for inspiration, and the fender fretless precision playing on that record is erection-enducing.
I have been playing the bass guitar for about ten years, but have never ventured into fretless territory. I am fixing to get a fretless fender jazz and want to hear from you guys advice the difference on technique. Spare me the patronizing obvious ******** too please.
Does your bass have active electronics? That would definitely contribute to the problem. I play a precision and still have to use the -15dB pad to go direct.
