That’s a great idea. I’ve got one for my little MAS powered cab and it’s really nice.

Yeah when I showed it to a friend he said it looked like something I rescued from a dive bar. It sorta self-relic’d and just needed a few cigarette burns to complete the look.

Yes but I don’t remember which one exactly. It’s an Eminence Pro something or other.

I was at my local friendly Music Go Round poking around with a little money burning a hole in my pocket to see what I could find. I was actually looking for an acoustic tenor guitar or a bouzouki (they had one last time I was in there), but neither were available. Then I saw this decent looking...

    Stage Names?

It's not Michael "Chili Dawg" Castleberry is it? One of the most legendary cautionary tales out there.

    Best tuner pedal? (2025)

I dunno, but it feels like they keep pushing back the date. I was ready to buy one in May and last time I checked they were supposed to be available in July. Now September? Maybe I'll get it for Christmas.

    Double Bass Volume, Volume, Volume!

I don’t think I mentioned going unamplified. I can probably count the number of times I’ve played without an amp in recent years on a single hand and still have 4 fingers remaining. I too have invested a great deal of time and money to find what works for me. The OP has a vaguely somewhat...

    Double Bass Volume, Volume, Volume!

Probably? One of the big bands I play with is moderately loud, but not outrageous. We have two bass players (it's a community band). We're always playing through the same amp in the same room. I was brought up on the school of the slightly higher action and really digging in to make my bass sing...

    Double Bass Volume, Volume, Volume!

Because version 2 has been greatly improved over version 1. I’ve got both and the difference between the TD1 and TD2 is staggering. I’ll even use the TD2 with my electric bass when going FOH because it can take cab sims. Plus the eq, hpf, compression, reverb, and signal routing options are...

    Double Bass Volume, Volume, Volume!

Interesting problem. The ToneDexter 2 should have more than enough volume on tap. My bass is strung with Evahs on the bottom with an Oliv G playing through my TD into just about anything. More often than not I’m too loud if I’m not careful. Sounds like you need to play with the spaciousness...

Can anyone tell me more about this Tyrolean bass?

Sure thing. Here are a few I was able to easily locate on my phone. They're mostly gig photos.

Can anyone tell me more about this Tyrolean bass?

I've got an old Tyrolean bass. It does not have a neck block. It looks like it's about the same size as yours and it's an absolute joy to play. It's also super light. There's no label, but the appraisal states it was crafted sometime in the 1890's. It does look like yours had a repair with a...

New tip jar. Hope it’s a lucky one!

That's what the white thing with the QR code is halfway down the fingerboard.

New tip jar. Hope it’s a lucky one!

I don’t know if there would be enough real estate for gratuities. Also, I had enough trouble keeping my hands steady for the word “Tips”. Stenciling is not my strongest skill. I used an oil based marker pen and the fingerboard is actually Baltic Birch that used to hold the neck pieces together.

New tip jar. Hope it’s a lucky one!

I picked up an old headstock/neck from @james condino a few years ago and finally decided exactly how I want to use it. I saw a picture of something like this at a local club and decided to make one that was a little more portable. So far I like it because it holds a few business cards, there’s...
