Here in Houston, its the law. Surrounding areas are about 50/50 depending on the owners choice. Craphole ice houses, all allow smoking, amongst other adult activities.

If you can hear the band at the back of the room, you're too loud. You want people close to the stage, not spread out and not paying attention to your work. Leave the back of the house for stragglers and people trying to hook up.

In my opinion and preference, a lead singer must first be able to sing the style required to make the band sound whole. Second is stage presence and audience engagement. After all, half the show is the show. Lastly, but not least, a band member. Contributions to band responsibilities and efforts.

Exactly. Don't get stuck with a combo you can't hear. The ELF is tremendously versatile and can be limitlessly expanded on. Pair it with a 1x10 cabinet or a 4x10, and it'll meet the demand. I know from real life experience.

Slightly confused. Do you, or do you not actually play bass in this band for these "gigs", or are you just filling in?

I once made a living as a touring recording artist, but not today. There's little money to be made as a recording artist from actual music sales these days, and touring feels more like a traveling t-shirt salesman. Ahh, the good ol' days.

I will never gig with a combo. Typically the amp section is usually underpowered and there's no option to increase the power section. Many combos are heavier and more cumbersome than a stack's individual components. Always better to have more power and options than you need rather that be stuck...

Sorry, I would've already told them to shove it by now. Taking advice and being told what to do are 2 different things.

Got the same exact model last year. Not knocking it, but my reaction is somewhat less enthusiastic. Nice quality for the price, not thrilled with the sound coming out of it. Been sitting on a stand since then collecting dust.
