    Which 2 bassist had the biggest impact on your style ? V2.0

    A while back there was a movie on pay per view about all of the Motown musicians. At the very end while they were running the credits, they played an audio clip of a band that was introduced as the James Jamerson Trio. It was awesome! His chops were unbelievable.

    Berry Oakley: Why Doesn't He Get More Respect

    He's got my respect. He was a huge influence on me. His playing on the fillmore album got me so stoked when I was a kid, that I went out and got a job mowing lawns so I could afford a Bass and some lessons.:bassist:

    I have to go with Four. Randy Jo Hobbs, Duck Dunn, Berry Oakley and Tommy Shannon.

    Duck was, is and always will be, THE MAN! In my acquired opnion.

    Any Randy Jo Hobbs fans?

    I'm a huge Randy Jo Hobbs fan. He was a great player. I would say that him, along with Barry Oakley and Duck Dunn, were my Three biggest influences, and the reason I picked up a Bass Guitar. Unfortunately all of them are gone. ( R.I.P ) BUT the music LIVES! :bassist:
