I received my cloth from fliptops last weekend and have been contemplating how to approach the job but Dave and Mark's tips convinced me to go for it. Extremely tough to get the cloth perfectly square (and photos are unforgiving) but i think it came out pretty well. The cloth is definitely high...

Thanks Dave, I found that recommendation thanks to this forum. 3mm black felt, 3M 77 spray adhesive, and an x-acto worked great. Now I just need to get the cloth on straight!

AussieMark, that AEB-1 is sweet! Rick Danko played the hell out of his fretless version. Say, quick question on recovering the grille cloth for my double baffle B-15N - does the cloth wrap around the edges or is it stapled to the front? I think the former, but hard to tell based on pics.

Cool, I will make a cable and try running my V4B through the CTS in my B-15N. Nice to have options

Thanks again Dave, great info. As mentioned I have cleaning and soldering in my future but for now I enjoy playing the thing. Another Q: the CTS is rated at 100w, correct? Wondering how well the B15 cab would pair with my mid-70s V4B. This setup would be a nice tweener for gigs where the B15...

beans-on-toast (Dave), thanks again for all the feedback. I discovered a loose wire - I'm not great at reading schematics but I think it belongs as indicated. Correct, and what does it do?

Thanks for all the help demystifying my amp. beans-on-toast: I have the knurled tube cage nuts but yes i need to de-grunge things and foresee several hours of Deoxit / scrubbing in my future. First i want to log more time playing music! (and get a discharge stick, I assume that is required...

Also here is the speaker code - 44th week of 1964. Could Ampeg have assembled the amp and gotten it into the channel in 8 weeks for it to be sold as a 1964 model year? I thought they went to the single baffles in 1965 but mine is clearly a DB.

b-o-t, thanks for your advice on crosspiece and the handle. Interesting observation about the tolex color - I haven't noticed a big variance but will give a closer look in daylight. It could be a trick of the light, here's another angle for comparison. I can make out CTS codes of 1376323 and...

I just acquired a 1964 B-15NC! To make it happen I sold a late 70's B-15S and a B-100R, but this is the amp I've always wanted plus I still have a 70's V4B (hard to justify four Ampegs). The pics depict the amp as I received it - mostly stock, sounds great with no hum or noise, the original CTS...
