The Chants as in Chants R&B? I'm a fan, what a really great band :D The Stage Door Tapes album is some killer stuff. It should be forced upon children in schools I reckon :hyper: My Wasp is now officially my longest serving amp ever. It just keeps sounding better.

Doh. Just clicked for the larger image  I see it is a newfangled master volume. That's some cutting edge Wasp technology you got there. :D

Seems like you'll have a mighty sweet rig going there :bassist: Your carpet has outdone my blue piping in the "what the heck were they thinking?" contest. You seem to have one more knob than everybody else. Is it a master volume? Looking forward to some pics.

Outstanding ... unless you invented that cherry ripe flavour in which case you are a freak, yuck! +1 on the pics. Please. Still gigging mine with the Lorantz as above, loving what it does and most amazing thing of all is I don't feel any GAS urges for another amp even after nearly two years...

    Mystery German Headstock Inlay

Another quick question TD, if you don;t mind :) The 361 Merkur photos I've seen have a bolt-on style bridge. I was assuming mine had been modified with a trapeze. But it just occurred to me that my bass is full hollowbody with no centre block and I'm guessing (probably wrongly) that a...

    Holden/Wasp club

About time I added mine to this thread. I bought it nearly a year ago based largely on Smo's constant ravings ;) This thread pushed me over the line. I'm glad I did, it's a great amp with a nice grind or a rubbery clean, the amount of dirt is easily controlled from the volume knob on my...

    Mystery German Headstock Inlay

Thanks for the replies guys, I appreciate it. I had thought it might have been a family coat of arms type deal or a regional thing but purely cosmetic makes sense :) One guy had me nearly convinced that it meant "I have no particular preference for men or women". :eyebrow: Phew!

    Mystery German Headstock Inlay

My old late 60's German Klira bass has an inlay on the headstock. I've been watching ebay and elsewhere for Kliras for a couple of years and have not seen another with this design on the headstock so I'm guessing it's a custom job or maybe something done by an owner post-factory. It's a little...

Tell us something unusual about your band

As well as the four of us musos, my band has 15 chick singers out the front and lays claim to being "The Worlds Biggest Girlgroup".

The Official Short Scale Bass Club

Thanks funkytoe :hyper: Here's my other shorty. 30.5" scale, MIJ probably early 70's, sort of an EB1 copy but not really. No branding on it, I guess it would have been Aria, Apollo, something like that. Hollowbody construction but with a big centreblock running east-west under the...

The Official Short Scale Bass Club

Heck might as well take a number. I'd be in good company, there are some mighty fine looking basses in this club. Thanks a bunch! :D I'll have to add some pics of my crazy old shorty MIJ EB-1 copy as well.

The Official Short Scale Bass Club

About time I posted here. This is my Klira 30.5" scale hollowbody. Pretty much like a Rivoli/EB2 but with Hofner sorta hardware. I got it about 18 months ago and love it to death. It sees regular use as my one and only bass for live and recording use. It needed a bit of love and money...

SOLD 1967 B-15n head, mounted in headcase: sexy

Got some dimensions there? I can ask around. If nothing else I've finally made my first TB post and you got a few free bumps :D Actually the real kick in the teeth with importing gear to Australia is that there's no tax for something under $1,000 but above that there's about 10 or 15%...

SOLD 1967 B-15n head, mounted in headcase: sexy

Just sent a PM about weight/dimensions etc. I'm keen but I think the shipping cost to Australia will burst my bubble :crying:
