Hmm I see. For my bass, I have it about as close as possible. I did take off a considerable amount of foam and that did help, but the higher I go up on the neck, the more the pitch starts to waiver. Thanks for the reply.

Hello all. This morning I decided to put in a mute on my Hofner Violin Bass. I just put some foam from the arts and craft store and placed it on top of the bridge pickup right next to the bridge. Playing it with the mute I've noticed it raises the pitch by a semi tone. Does anyone know why that...
