I’ve heard it kinda different, here’s my take. Dixon designed the Hummingbird while working for Gibson. At some point in time, Gibson began cutting costs on the Hummingbird angering Dixon who eventually quit to start building them himself. He made some prototypes while at Gibson the way he felt...
