Fifths descending. I honestly didn't notice B and e were odd, though, until I was tuning my guitar to itself, using the fifth fret.

I get that basses are tuned in fifths. E, A, D, G. At least, for standard tuning. But where do the B and e come in on guitars? Wouldn't C and G make more sense?
