This is a good idea if you are planning to gig. To have an amp head and a cab (with handles and wheels) is the best option. To move a combo when you have more than 50 is forbidden.

I have upgraded my MM basses with the bridge that comes with the Squier Vista Series. It have strings through body. The bass will look as an original one, but will have a barrel for each string.
