The ultra-low switch on an SVT

I suppose it depends what kind of sound you want, but I have an SVT-CL and an 810e - and play rock with a P bass and a pick - and there's more than enough low end without engaging the ultra low switch. Having the switch in seems a good way to not really be heard in the mix (tho certainly felt)

    Too "busy" on the bass?!?

I don't think much of your guitarist's playing TBH. His solos are full of out of tune notes, questionable phrasing and notes that don't work in the key you're in. He should concentrate on his own playing and not worry about yours, which has decent, musical ideas going on

Playing complicated bass lines with low strap height.

anyone got any evidence that playing a low slung bass has ever caused anyone back trouble and arthritis of the wrists?

How many of us are playing your dream rig vs making do with what you have?

I also play guitar, and I've spent far more on exotic and expensive guitar gear than I've ever spent on bass gear, despite bass being my 'real' instrument. Since the early 90s, I've always known what bass sound I'm after, and how to get it. So I've never felt the need to experiment much. Just...

P Bass what am I missing

the mids. P-bass mids are unique and have a pleasant, slightly nasal, slightly springy sounding musicality that you can do a lot with how well it sits in a mix (compared to a jazz bass) depends on so many things - just because the production on Motown records carved a lot of room for Jamerson's...

    Team Trace Elliot pt4.

Hi GG, thanks for coming back to me. I've taken a crappy picture of what I'm looking at under the left-hand side vent. I'm pretty sure it's a fan (albeit possibly a dead one) ah500-7 fan by inflatablefilth posted Aug 26, 2016 at 9:40 PM

Hi guys, can I join? Mine's one of the Peavey era AH500-7's with a Peavey era 1048h cab. Tomorrow I'm going to collect a matching 1518 cab, so I have the stack. years ago, I used to have a GP7 715 combo, which sounded fantastic, eventually just wasn't really loud enough for some of the things I...
