I usually rock em right out of the bass and swap with something gutsier. I haven’t had those pickups but I had mk1 and mk3 with the same preamp, and was ready to swap the whole package out but I ended up trading the bass.

I have the MB212 and it gets crackly if it’s been in storage for a while. On mine, it’s actually the knobs and it might be on yours too. If you can get it to give you sound again, run it and give them reach a vigorous turn back and forth, one by one, and see if the behavior changes.

Sure, and I am certain it would work just fine. I am more partial to the BB series though ;)

Does your repertoire look anything like this, by chance? Just kidding :) but maybe you tend to play more on the e string than the others and wear it out faster?

Just don’t try to sell it to someone else as authentic. Other than that, do whatever you want with your own belongings.

If you prefer it passive then go for it, but I will say that I upgraded mine with John East’s Marcus retro preamp and it is the shiz. It sounds way more organic than the audere and has passive tone control.

I was in the exact same boat and what solved it for me was plain old single coils from an American standard jazz plus a good preamp. If I was going to take it further I’d call Mr Fralin.

I do vote with my wallet, but right now I think there are more important things to boycott than Fender.

I’m glad you asked too! Passive subs have been kind of antiquated by modern powered ones. I would bet you can scoop up a used passive one inexpensively. It’ll be…not lightweight though.

If by daisy chain you mean run the first cab into the second cab, then yes this works. This is generally a parallel connection, as would be using 2 outputs from the amp if they were available. You often see these labeled “parallel” on the amps as well.
