    SWR 750x/Speakon Issue

Glad I cleared that up then.. Could have been a very expensive mistake.

    SWR 750x/Speakon Issue

Thanks to everyone for the input. I haven't had a chance to test any of the options presented, but I do know that the switch is set to full range on the back of the cab. As far as the suggestion of running a 1/4" and the speakon at the same time to the cab, that's safe to do? I mean that won't...

    SWR 750x/Speakon Issue

Ok, so I am running an swr 750x into a GK neo 412 cabinet. The cab came with a 4 conductor speakon cable. When running that cable, the cabinet actually sounds pretty terrible. Very farty and lacks any punch. When switching to a 1/4 inch, it sounds reasonable. I'm curious if its because the...

    GK Neo 412 Side Handles

After much deliberation, I have finally made a decision and ordered the GK NEO 412 cabinet. My question now is, has anyone out there every attempted to put side handles on the cabinet to make it easier to lift? I know GK sells side handles fairly cheap on their site, but I don't want to...

    Pairing an Ampeg SVT 410HLF

Thanks Gearhead. I have to say, the only thing I hesitate on with that NEO is that is lacks swivel casters and side handles. Not a major issue I suppose and being that I'm 6'5", 265 lbs... lifting isn't a huge concern. Sadly, I can't find a shop anywhere near me (Long Island) that carries one...

    Pairing an Ampeg SVT 410HLF

Finally some clarity on the under powering issue. Thanks! However, I have come across a GK neo 412 and have read stellar reviews about it. Would this be a suitable replacement for my used ampeg svt 410hlf? Like I said earlier, I'm looking for more volume and punch without losing the low end.

    Pairing an Ampeg SVT 410HLF

Never heard of bergantino's but I'll definitely check it out. I've looked at few 4x10s over the last few days and have developed a new confusion. I've seen the gk neo 4x10 at 8 ohms that can handle 800W. My head at 8 ohms puts out 560W. Is there an issue under powering a cabinet in that instance?

    Pairing an Ampeg SVT 410HLF

I agree Jimmy, while it says you can run the 8 and 4 ohm cabs safely, it also adds that running that hot will wear the head out sooner, so I scrapped that idea fairly easily.

    Pairing an Ampeg SVT 410HLF

To be clear, by running one off each side, do you mean as in a parallel set up? How would I run them as two separate cabs from the head without pushing it beyond the 4 ohm output? And cheers for your patience with me Jimmy, it's quite appreciated.

    Pairing an Ampeg SVT 410HLF

Thanks for the input thus far! Now if I understand impedance at all, if I run a second 410hlf @ 4 Ohms, wouldn't that bring the total impedance down to 2 Ohms? My head can run at 2.67 at the lowest I believe. I certainly don't want a burnt out head. Again, I'm not super knowledgable about...

    Pairing an Ampeg SVT 410HLF

I have long stalked these forums for advice on various matters, but I haven't quite found a direct answer to my recent concern. I'm currently running an SWR 750x head on an SVT 410HLF. I've recently had issues with speakers blowing and was told (whether or not accurately) that possibly adding...

    Acoustic stack

Hey guys, new to the forum, but love it so far. I was curious if anyone out there is playing on an acoustic 410 and 115 full stack. Im currently running an swr 750x through an ampeg 410hlf and im finding that i lose a lot of my clean low end as i add volume. Ive been told its ideal to run the...
