    Show off your rig!

    Verellen Meatsmoke/Ampeg 8x10/1975 Gibson Grabber (I also play a Roadworn 50's Precision)

What is the inherent problem with a traditional 8X10 cabinet?

Yeah, literally everyone who complains about the weight/logistics of moving an 8x10 (based on anything other than size) has probably not actually ever moved one. I greatly prefer moving my 8x10 to moving my old (and relatively light) 4x10

    You still have the 74?

    Ampeg SLM made 8x10?

Yeah, I really liked the 4 pro I played, but I'd definitely be flipping it if I ended up picking this up.

    Ampeg SLM made 8x10?

Even if said wreck was actually $700 and included a SVT 4 pro, rack case, and rack tuner?

    Ampeg SLM made 8x10?

I'm running an Ampeg B410he (cheapy cheap) with a Verellen Meatsmoke. Think this would be a worthwhile upgrade to leave at the practice space? I've got a car that can fit it as well.

    Ampeg SLM made 8x10?

Looks like its a September of 2000 cab then

    Ampeg SLM made 8x10?

Missing a lot of tolex, but works fine. How do you find the date of the cab? Is there a method to decoding the serial number?

    Ampeg SLM made 8x10?

I have a chance to get a SLM Made 8x10 for a very good price (~$300) I really like the Ampeg 8x10 sound but I know the SLM ones have a reputation for being a bit dark sounding, is this significant enough to make it worth skipping? I'd be running a P Bass and a Verellen Meatsmoke through it...

    ***Club Verellen*** - Part Deux

Got this a few weeks ago. 200w Meatsmoke with a half power switch and light blue LED. Sounds rad, would sound even better if I wasn't using a $400 Ampeg B Series cab. Got any cab suggestions for this bad boy? Outside of a 8x10, which is ultimately what I want anyways.

Saw and tried some of the new Rumble combos today

Yeah, I tried out on of the new Rumbles and they destroyed the old ones. I played through a Rumble 100 for a while and it was pretty average sounding, I thought the new ones sounded very very good, I actually thought they sounded better than my PF350

Getting more aggression out of a Road Worn 50's P

I'm playing a fairly new (~1 month old) set of coated Elixirs, playing with a pick, and the EQ is set to my liking. Like I've said though, theres just a lack of high end attack from the bass even unplugged, so thats clearly not an EQ issue. I want a bit more of metallic attack to the high end...

Getting more aggression out of a Road Worn 50's P

Yeah, I'm looking for to use the 50's as my main bass and the CV as a backup. The strings are fairly fresh Elixir's, it's just theres a lack of high end attack even unplugged. I'm playing through an Ampeg PF350 with a VT bass in front of it.

Getting more aggression out of a Road Worn 50's P

So I recently picked up a roadworn 50's P for a good price, but the overall sound is a lot more subdued than I'd like. Even unplugged (especially on the low E), theres a very mellow sound without a lot of high end attack, especially when compared to my CV 60's P. Is this a setup issue, or does...

    My rented backline adventures

My favorite backline story I've experienced is going to see my friends band play a backline supplied gig. Guitar amps were a Marshall JVM 2x12 and a Musicman HD130, and the bass amp was a Roland Micro Cube. Classic.
