Noob-question-warning I have a 1966 fixed bias B-15NF. My question is [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] If I buy a matched pair of these (which are said to be reproducing the sound of phillips/RCA vintage tubes), will I have to adjust the bias by soldering some resistors, or do I just take...

I did not try flats on this bass, my friend did. It sounds pretty much as The Beatles ;) AFAIK the Rumblekat was modelled after the Casino bass, which is/was used, with flats, on Air LP Moon Safari The tone may be somewhat similar:

I played one couple of times, it is quite aggressive, and it really gets that 'Woody' tone. My instincts also tell me that this bass is to be discontinued soon, unfortunately. I'd love to get one though. I have seen some significant price drop of 200 dollars here in Poland last year.

I guess I would have to swallow the sour taste of the shipping cost. Well, PF-115HE does not sound bad at all, I'm just considering my options here. Good to know there are some and that an orphaned cabinet is not a must..

It's not hearable live, but once you get in the studio, the difference is significant IMHO. If you need to change the neck angle do it with properly prepared piece of wood, not a business or credit card ;)

Do you guys think that getting a doublebaffle cab and e.g. a Jensen driver would get me more of 60s sound than my current PF-115HE setup? I was thinking of getting myself a copy of B-15 cab and a speaker from ebay. I have no idea as to what the cost of the cab, along with the diamond tolex would...

\ I would not go that way, since neckjoint is a critical part of any instrument, and good contact between the neck and the body is crucial for getting good resonance properties. Unless you want to lose some tone, don't do it.

My B-15 is back alive! $1 fix! And sounds so sweeeeet! 56V of bias voltage now
