    Jazz Bass Neck Feels Flimsy

So the other day I was practicing with my band and we were playing pretty hard and it got quite intense with us throwing instruments around everywhere ( not on the floor ) whilst I am playing I notice the neck on my jazz bass feels kind of flimsy. It feels quite easy to bend which leads to the...

    Stripping Paint

Thanks man great advice ! yeah juts going for a natural finish but I'm not really bothered about it looking perfect because I think instruments look better used and abused, just don't want the body to start falling apart.

    Stripping Paint

I was thinking of stripping the paint off my jazz bass but it is not a single piece of alder, will a heat gun loosen the glue and wreck the body ?

    STRAPS !

yes they are genuine schallers and they did not fail just the with being on the bass there was too much weight on the screw is all

    STRAPS !

The straplock sticks out too much so there is too much weight being put on the screw... if the screw and the strap were closer to the body, like with the clip locks then this would no longer be a problem.. I have put the strap lock back on because I have nothing else to put on at the moment and...

    STRAPS !

yeah these are schaller straplocks, they seem to hold pretty well because it kept intact with the strap button it just snapped the screw

    STRAPS !

yeah I've noticed a lot of the bands I listen to using them and doing crazy poopie on stage... never using strap locks again though maybe on something lighter than the bass they would be okay

    STRAPS !

Just wondering has anybody had any experience using dimarzio clip locks on bass.. are they sturdy ? can they cope with the weight ? I have been using strap locks which I am never going to use again on my bass as recently the one on the bottom of the bass pulled out but left the snapped end of...

Fun exercises for left hand practice

The bass I have is really terrible and I am unable to adjust the string action or the truss rod. so the strings on this bass are really high up from the fretboard which means I have to press them down a great deal. Although it sucks this has been a great help in strengthening my fingers a lot...

    Fender or Ibanez

I am more drawn to the fender if I'm honest. I would be more than happy weather either a fender or ibanez but right now it's a lot of money to spend for me and I want to make sure I get the right one for me.

    Fender or Ibanez

I also have small hands which is why I have been drawn to the MPJ and the ibanez

    Fender or Ibanez

yeah the sr500 is a very aesthetically pleasing bass and I will be sure to try one out

    Fender or Ibanez

there are both the modern player jazz and the srx and sr500 at a local music store so I will head there soon to test them out. I have and ibanez sa series which I think plays wonderfully, a lot of people don't seem to like ibanez guitars or basses and I don't see why

    Fender or Ibanez

The cheapo bass really sucks but one good thing is that I haven't been able to lower the action because the truss rod is inaccessible but this has made my fingers a lot stronger and that is probably the only good thing to come of this bass.
