he was a bit snobby? i know the guitar amps are passable/good to practice with, but because of the perhaps overly digital-ness of it all they are/seem gimmicky and are somewhat looked down on... i have no idea what the bass amps are like, though

that one ran out i think : ( but yes, i could get hold of an 810 i suppose... however, i think i'd rather get a decent amp, and upgrade the cabinet, rather than the other way round... is that a bad thing to do?

okay thanks, i'll check the ashdown out. if its really warm and bassy though, thats not what i'm looking for... i aim to eventually get a 810, but i cant afford one right now. i can probably stretch about £600 to get both amp and cab. thanks for yours helps : )
